Since the arrest of Tony Abi Saab in 2011, a reputed arms dealer of Lebanon, media persons in the Middle East and Europe have been suppressed and pressurized by his supporters to not publish any sort of news related to Tony.
Press, the fourth pillar of democracy, is crumbling in the hands of powerful and corrupt businessmen. These people are killing journalists and threatening media persons for writing anything about their crimes and arrests. Illegal arms dealer, Tony Abi Saab is one such person who embezzled 5 million dollars of the US Army in a contract fraud through his ghost companies—K5 Global and Bennet Fouch and sold weapons to terrorists active in Syrian. His shell company Brixia produced spare parts for weapons for reassembly and sales to the black market of Syria. Another company of Tony, Tactica Ltd was buying guns and weapons commercially and selling them to the terrorists illegally. His front company, Brescia Middle East laundered money and covertly dealt with terrorists.
In 2011, the US Army orchestrated a global sting operation to catch fraudsters like Tony and they succeeded in their plan. Tony was arrested in Afghanistan and was flown to the US to stand a trial in the court. Despite him being a millionaire and a known arms dealers worldwide, no media channels broadcasted the news of his arrest with bribe money and valuable documents. While Tony was addressing war crime charges, his supporters were busy removing evidence and deleting articles against him.
The number of news articles about Tony’s arrest and crimes was in single digits even those were brought down within a week. Media persons were threatened to be killed if raised their voice and out of fear nobody wrote anything about him.
